Our organization provides individualized, supportive, and responsive services for all of our clients, intended parents, and gestational surrogates. We pride ourselves on our fast response time and personal communication.

The fees include the initial screening of both the gestational carrier and the intended parents, coordinating the matching process until a compatible match is made, helping to locate and facilitate appointments with the appropriate medical providers, answering questions, and providing support every step of the way from your initial application through finalizing the process after the birth. A formal agreement will spell out the provided services in more detail.

The fee does not include any reimbursements to the gestational carrier, medical and legal expenses. The Vermont Surrogacy Network will give you an estimate of those additional expenses, with the understanding that it can only be an estimate as every case is different. All reimbursements to the gestational carrier will be managed through a VSN Escrow account.

No. It is important to understand that while Kurt M. Hughes, one of the principals of VSN, is an attorney, the network does not provide legal advice, and communications with VSN are not protected by the attorney-client privilege. Intended parents may hire Mr. Hughes’ firm to provide legal services, but they are not required to do so. Gestational Carriers will be referred to as independent legal counsel at the expense of the intended parents.

Some people do use the internet, local advertising, and word-of-mouth to locate a gestational carrier, and navigate the legal and medical processes on their own. With VSN, however, gestational carriers are located and prescreened before the matching process even begins. Also, the logistical and emotional support that VSN can provide throughout the process can provide a peace of mind that cannot be secured by any “do-it-yourself” methods. With the complex patchwork of medical, legal, and social providers to navigate, VSN can help you put the pieces together so you can concentrate on building your family.
